Entries are now open for the annual National Youth Heifer Expo being held in Wodonga from the 29th of June to the 1st of July 2018.
The annual event is being organised by the hard-working Herefords Australia Youth Committee, who are hoping to make this one of the most successful Youth events yet.
The event is designed to give young cattle enthusiasts the opportunity to build their knowledge and understanding of the beef industry in a safe and welcoming environment.
Activities will target all age groups and experience levels, with demonstrations ranging from halter making and knot tying, to practical demonstrations on feed milling and nutrient conversions.
The committee are placing a strong focus on ensuring that all demonstrations are age appropriate, and that practical skills and knowledge will be able to be taken away from the event.
For those who don’t have access to a suitable Hereford animal, there will be loan heifers available. Simply select ‘Loan Heifer required’ in the entry form and the committee will take care of the rest.
The committee are also looking for generous sponsors to help make this event as successful as it possibly can be.
