Important Update: Transition to Helical

As previously communicated, Herefords Australia is transitioning to Helical, our new breed registry platform, to provide members with a more modern, efficient and intuitive experience well into the future.

The transition is an important investment in the systems that support our members and the Hereford breed. Helical has been designed to better support the way breeders manage animal, registration, performance and genomic information, while providing a platform that can continue to evolve as technology and the needs of our members change.

As Herefords Australia prepares to transition to the new Helical breed registry platform, there are several important dates and actions members need to be aware of.

ACTION REQUIRED BY 30 SEPTEMBER 2026

All member-initiated transactions must be entered into Hereford Live by Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

This includes any transactions you would normally enter yourself through the system.

From 1 October 2026, all animal, catalogue and registration transactions will be transitioned to the new Helical system.

FROM 1 OCTOBER: SEND TRANSACTIONS TO THE HAL OFFICE

While we await the final go-live date for Helical, members will temporarily be unable to enter animal transactions directly online.

From 1 October 2026, please send all animal transactions to the Herefords Australia office for manual processing, including:

• Animal registrations
• Changes or updates to animal information
• Transfers

During this transition period, information will no longer be entered into the ABRI/ Internet Solutions/Hereford Live system.

15 OCTOBER 2026 – WEBINAR

Herefords Australia will host a series of webinars on how to navigate Helical. The first of the series will be an introduction to Helical. Herefords Australia will email and publish a link to register for the webinar. 

IMPORTANT: DOWNLOAD YOUR MEMBER FILES BY 19 OCTOBER

From 19 October 2026, access to the existing ABRI/Internet Solutions/Hereford Live system ceases.

If you have files or documents saved within Hereford Live or your member section that you would like to retain access to, it is important that you download and save a copy before this date.

After 19 October, these files and documents will no longer be accessible.

WHEN WILL HELICAL BE AVAILABLE?

The official Helical go-live date is 19 October; this is when members will receive access to the new platform.

To help members prepare for the transition, a series of how-to videos and tip sheets will be made available through the Herefords Australia website.

PUBLIC ANIMAL AND MEMBER SEARCHES

The public Animal Search and Member Search functions will remain available from the Herefords Australia website homepage, as will the login to Helical.

These links will remain in the same location, making them easy to find and access.

While the new Helical platform will look different, it will continue to provide similar functionality for searching and accessing information.
