Entries are now open for the 58th Herefords Australia National Show and Sale. (Entries Close 30th March 2019)
NEW ONE DAY SHOW/SALE FORMAT – both the show and sale will take place on Tuesday 4th June.
Continuing for 2019 – Junior “P” Bulls Allowed
The following conditions apply:
- The bulls must be born between 1st January 2017 and 1st April 2018
- Birth Weight and 200 day weight and scanned data must be submitted to BREEDPLAN for the March run
- These bulls must be sire verified and free from all known genetic conditions
- They will be shown in with the juniors
- They will be sold in age descending order in their nominated selling agent’s Junior run
The Herefords Australia National Show & Sale (Dubbo) Show & Sale Management Committee has provided the following information to assist vendors and patrons prepare for the 2019 event.
All bulls must be sire verified and free from known genetic conditions at the CLOSE OF ENTRIES. Any animal that is not sire verified or been tested free of all known genetic conditions by the close of entries, will not be permitted entry in to the 2019 Show and Sale.
All entries must have a minimum of a ‘Hereford Standard Bundle’, which for $60 includes a Low Density Geneseek (50k), Sire Verification, HY, DL, IE, MSUD testing. If the animal is Polled, while not required, it is recommended to get the ‘Hereford Horn/Poll Bundle’, which for $70 includes all of the above including a Horn/Poll test.
It is important to note that sires may require upgrading from Microsatelitte to a SNP. Contact Ambrose Kenney at Herefords Australia to determine if your sires will require any upgrading prior to sire verification of your entries.
NEW FOR 2019 – an onsite vet will perform an inspection of all bulls entered in the 2019 Show and Sale. Inspections will be carried out at the Dubbo Showground from 9:00am to 2:00pm on Monday 3rd June 2019.
Catalogue notes for lots – vendors will be able to add Health Notes in the catalogue and this must be submitted at the time of entry – these may include results for bulls DNA test, poll test, gene markers test, disease tests and health status.
JBAS Score – a minimum score of 6 for the show and sale.
Entry Fee for 2019 is $320 (includes GST)
DATES OF IMPORTANCE:
1st March 2019: BREEDPLAN cutoff. All bulls are required to have current reportable EBVs (February 2019 analysis) for birth weight, 200/400 or 600 day weights, fat depth (rib & rump), eye muscle area & intra muscular fat and must have scrotal measurement submitted to BREEDPLAN by 1st March 2019.
30th March: Entries close. All DNA samples must be received by the Herefords Australia office or entries will be denied.
25th May: Final day to submit Auctionsplus photos and information on bull so it can be uploaded to Auctionsplus.
3rd June: Inspections commence at 9:00am
4th June: Judging 8:00am, Sale 1:00pm
