Herefords Australia welcomes Sam de Ruiter as Registry & Member Services Manager

Herefords Australia is pleased to announce that Sam de Ruiter will be joining the organisation as our new Registry & Member Services Manager, commencing 15 December 2025.

Sam brings extensive experience in breed registry management, livestock data systems, and member engagement across both the New Zealand and Australian beef industries. She joins us from ABRI, where she began the year as an Executive Officer in the Breed Secretariat team before progressing to Team Leader. During her time there, she supported multiple breed societies and most recently served as the Executive Officer for Red Angus. Her work has centred on enhancing member experience, improving internal processes, and ensuring breed organisations get the most out of the systems and tools available to them.

Before her time with ABRI, Sam spent several years with Performance Beef Breeders NZ as Registry Manager. In that role, she worked closely with multiple breeds, most notably New Zealand Herefords, giving her deep insight into registry workflows, herd book operations, and the value of responsive, solutions-focused member support. This foundation will be invaluable as she steps into her new position with Herefords Australia.

Originally from New Zealand, Sam is passionate about continuous improvement, building positive working relationships, and providing proactive support to breeders navigating registrations, systems, and day-to-day enquiries.
