June has been a productive and energising month at Herefords Australia, with key projects delivered, momentum building for major youth and leadership initiatives, and a rare and valuable opportunity for our whole team to come together in person.
Team Workshop – Armidale Catch-Up
From 16–20 June, the Herefords Australia team gathered in Armidale for a full week of strategy, planning and collaboration. As a geographically dispersed organisation, it’s not often we have the chance to meet face-to-face, and the week proved to be both productive and energising. We workshopped our strategic priorities and reaffirmed our collective focus on delivering strong outcomes for our members and continuing to advance the breed.
Inventory & BREEDPLAN Billing – Sliding Scale Now in Effect
As communicated in the regulation changes introduced late last year, this is the first year the Inventory and BREEDPLAN billing cycle has operated under the new sliding scale fee structure. We’re pleased to confirm this billing process has now been completed. The revised model delivers a more equitable and flexible approach, directly responding to member feedback and reinforcing our commitment to providing value and fairness across all member services.
Youth Expo – Canberra Here We Come!
The countdown is on for the 2025 Herefords Australia Youth Expo, taking place in Canberra 10–13 July. With over 130 competitors aged 6–25 attending with their families, it promises to be our biggest and best yet. We’re especially excited about the Expo auction, where we’ll offer premium advertising spots in the Herefords Australia Annual Magazine, the inside front, inside back, and back cover. These coveted placements are always in high demand, and this is a great opportunity to support our youth while securing prime exposure. The auction takes place on Saturday 12 July at The Rex Hotel, Canberra and will be interfaced with AuctionsPlus. Future Breeders & Leaders – Launch Imminent
We’re close to announcing the location and program for our 2025 Future Breeders & Leaders event. With exciting tours and high-value experiences in the works, this initiative is set to help shape the next wave of leadership within the Hereford community. Full details will be released shortly—stay tuned.
Backing Our US Team – $10,000 Matching Support
Herefords Australia is proud to support our Young Breeders Competition team heading to the World Hereford Conference in the United States. To support in their fundraising, we’re offering to match the single largest donation, up to $10,000. It’s a direct investment in the future of the breed, and we’re proud to back this talented team as they represent Australia on the Global stage.
Performance on Display – Devon Court Herefords
Congratulations to Devon Court Herefords, who topped the RNA Paddock to Palate feedlot phase (70-day HGP grain-fed class), with cattle gaining over 3.1kg/day, more than 300g/day ahead of the field. This result is a terrific demonstration of the commercial strength and efficiency of Hereford genetics.
Finance Update – Transition to Xero
A quick heads-up: we are transitioning our accounting system to Xero. Members may notice some changes in the layout of invoices and communications. This move will streamline our financial operations and improve the member experience going forward.
