The Herefords Australia Youth Ambassador Program is an initiative designed to engage the next generation of cattle enthusiasts. The program will allow Hereford Youth members to apply for a twelve month program where they will be expected to be actively involved in the Hereford Youth movement and other industry events. Up to 6 persons will be selected (18-25yrs) annually. At the conclusion of the 12 months an 'Ambassador of the Year' will be selected.
Responsibilities of Ambassadors
Ambassadors will be expected to;

Assist with Hereford Events in their region

Attend the Herefords Australia National Youth Heifer Show

Promote the breed within the region

Produce a minimum of 3 news articles relating to the Ambassador Program and/or the Hereford Breed

Assist in the Stewarding Duties at Herefords Australia National Show & Sales (Wodonga & Dubbo)

Assist in the running and organising the Semen Auctions at the Herefords Australia National Show & Sales (Wodonga & Dubbo)
What Ambassadors Receive

Ambassadors will receive an embroidered jacket and shirt at the beginning of their appointment

Ambassadors will be provided $500 for costs associated with being an Ambassador, (travel, etc.) at the beginning of their Ambassadorship

The Ambassador of the Year will receive $1000 to help further their career in the Agricultural Industry
Conditions of Entry

Ambassadors must be between 18 and 25 years as of 1 July 2016

Selected Ambassadors will be financial Herefords Australia Youth Members
Applicant should not have current plans to travel abroad for extended periods over the coming 12 months.
