23rd Northern NSW Poll Hereford Heifer Show Results

 

The 23rd Northern NSW Poll Hereford Heifer Show was held in Barraba on 9th-10 th October 2008 with approximately 40 youths in attendance exhibiting 6 bulls and 42 heifers. 

The youths were given talks on animal structure, NLIS, animal nutrition and reproduction.  The beef industry was also discussed before a visit to a local butchery for a demonstration on cutting up a beast.  They also participated in Junior Judging competitions, Public Speaking and paraders. 

Overall the show was well attended and a good time was had by all whereby the youths all had the opportunity to experience various aspects of the beef industry and broaden their knowledge.
