Sell-Out at World Hereford Conference (09/07/2012)

The World Hereford Conference which runs from July 8 in Calgary, Canada, has attracted over 1000 attendees from 20 countries.

According to Canadian Hereford Association’s general manager Gordon Stephenson, the event and associated tours are ‘complete sell-outs’.

While the event coincides with the exciting Calgary Stampede, technical sessions will explore the genetic progress the Hereford breed has made and how the various countries can cooperate to further expand the Hereford influence world-wide.

An entry of 347 cattle in a special conference show and tours to Hereford ranches will showcase of north American Herefords.

All 20 countries have nominated Hereford youth leaders to attend a special youth educational and networking segment and Australia will be represented by Sam Becker form Banana, Qld.

An Australian delegation of 36 will be led by Herefords Australia’s chairman Steve Reid, Millmerran, Qld, vice-chairman Pat Pearce, Adelong, NSW, and CEO John McKew. They will represent Australia at a pre-conference meeting for international Hereford organisations.
