Panel of Three Judges for Dubbo

The panel of three judges to sort out the 138 bulls at the Dubbo National comprises of Katrina Copping from SA, Anthony Coates from Qld, and Doug Tozer from NSW.

DOUG TOZER, NSW

Doug Tozer has judged many breeds of cattle over a long period of time and has found it challenging, stimulating and rewarding.  When judging he has always endeavoured to find the best attributes in an animal, so optimum benefits for the breed are gained whilst showing exhibitors’ cattle to the public for their appraisal.

Having judged at all Royal Shows in Australia, including 8 breeds of cattle at Sydney Royal plus the Horden Trophy in Sydney, the ultimate experience was judging 268 Poll Hereford Bulls at the 1994 Dubbo National.

Selection criteria has been consistent throughout by selecting for the basic commercial traits – structure, fertility, balance, size and the animals ability to contribute to the breed and industry as a whole.

To be asked to join other practical cattle breeders to judge at the 50th National Poll Hereford Show and Sale is an honour and he greatly appreciates and look forwards to the experience.
