HEREFORDS TOP EUROA SALE
Hereford weaner steers sold to $945 to top Euroa in early March pushed by export orders and producers with excess feed.
The 73 steers offered by the Laffan family from Beveridge and Deloraine were aged 11 months and weaned four weeks. They sold in three lots from $900 to the sale topping $945.
The top pen weighed 390 kg returning 242c/kg while the third pen at $900 weighed 336 kg returning 267c/kg.
Another pen of 18 younger Herefords at 264 kgs made $780 or 295c/kg.
Further north at Wodonga in the same week, a line of 153 Hereford steers 12-14 months made $944 for Hicks Herefords, Running Creek.
